Welcome New Staff!

This page is for two groups:

  • New staff who are attending NSO this summer and will also be taking first-year IBS courses
  • New staff who have recently completed NSO and have not taken Intro to Christian Theology (ICT) or Bible Study Methods (BSM).

The dates for both classes are June 20 - July 3. ICT has a project due in the morning on July 4. ICT is from 8:00 - 10:00 AM EDT. BSM is from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM EDT. Everyone taking ICT and BSM should plan to attend a mandatory meeting on June 19 from 7:00-9:00 pm.

Further information about NSO and IBS schedules and location can be found at the NSO Website.

Our Vision for Theological Development

We use the Scriptures every day in ministry.
Whether we are proclaiming the life-changing message of the gospel or helping ground people in the truth of God’s Word, the Scriptures inform all we do. Have you ever finished leading a small group Bible study and thought, “I wish I knew the Scriptures better?” Have you ever found yourself in an evangelistic conversation in which you thought, “I wish I knew how to respond more effectively to this person’s questions?” Have you ever been in a conversation with someone who is deeply struggling and thought, “I wish I was better able to relate the truths of Scripture to my friend’s problems?”

We are all aware of our need to grow deeper.

This summer you'll have the chance to complete two courses: Intro to Christian Theology and Bible Study Methods. These courses do not represent “hoops” to jump through. They play an integral role in preparing you for the ministry to which God has called you. Through these courses you will have the opportunity to be refreshed in your spirit, revitalized in your vision and renewed in your thinking.

This page will explain more about the courses, tell you which books to buy, and give you info on preparing for your classes.
