Can I be exempt from any of the NST courses if I have taken theological courses previously?
Yes. To be exempt from Intro to Christian Theology and Bible Study Methods, you must have completed an equivalent graduate-level course. To be exempt from Intro to Mission, you need to have completed either an undergraduate or graduate Intro to Mission course. See the “Course Exemptions” page for more information.

What do I do if I think I might be exempt from a course?

How much homework is there?
You can expect to spend at least 2 hours of outside work per class per day, plus some extra time for the group projects.

Can I “audit” these courses?
No. In order to fulfill your theological development requirements, you must do the work for the courses.

What if I have additional questions?

What do I do if I need to miss a class?
If you think you may need to miss a class, you must contact the IBS director in order to receive permission. In your email please outline in detail the reason you are requesting to miss class, when you hope to leave and return.
