Course Exemptions
All new Cru missionaries are required to complete three theological courses:
- Intro to Christian Theology
- Bible Study Methods
- Intro to Mission
In order to be considered for a course exemption from Intro to Christian Theology or Bible Study Methods, you must have completed an equivalent graduate-level course. To qualify for an exemption from Intro to Mission, you need to have completed either an undergraduate or graduate Intro to Mission course.
Even if you are exempt from Intro to Christian Theology, you will still be asked to audit this course because of the pivotal role it plays in introducing the theological identity of Cru.In past years New Staff with graduate theological degrees have served as teaching assistants (TA’s).
Each course from which you are exempt will lower the cost of the conference by about $300.

Records for Cru Courses Completed Overseas
There is no world-wide database of all Cru theological courses. If you took a theological course offered by Cru while you were serving in some other part of the world, you will need to contact the professor (or administrator) who taught the class and have them send an email directly to ibs.info@cru.org stating:
- your full name
- the name of the course
- when and where it was taught
- the grade you received.
It is your responsibility to obtain this information.
